It has been more than 6 months since our last posting. Some of you may wonder where we have been and where are we now.The last part first. We are now in Maine, on the coast. Living in our first winter in 15 years. Lady Blue is comfortably resting further north , winterized in mid November and eagerly awaiting reawakening sometime in April. Sadly, we will not be seeing our friends in Quartzsite J and B and Lady Bluehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04103369850699744277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1792654412199604577.post-10220401259317798252020-05-15T16:38:00.000-05:002020-05-15T16:38:37.303-05:00Parowan Gap Petroglyphs,BLM Land, Cedar City, Utah
This Monday will mark 3 weeks here at BLM Land above the Parowan Gap near Cedar City, Utah. A number of people have visited here to look at the Petroglyphs. You can almost read their minds, trying to place themselves almost 2,000 years ago.
The signage is great here, explaining the geography and Native American history. 200 million years ago the bedrock lifted up through J and B and Lady Bluehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04103369850699744277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1792654412199604577.post-72955820030183158892020-04-30T14:44:00.001-05:002020-04-30T14:44:36.054-05:00Snowbird Mesa, Overton, Nevada; Interstate 15 north into Utah, Parowan Gap BLM land, Cedar City, Utah
Above is our spot at Snowbird Mesa in Overton, Nevada; just a few miles up the road from Valley of Fire State Park(which is closed for Covid19).
We were here for 32 days. As many of you fully realize, the parameters of the Covid19 shutdowns kept changing almost daily. It became suggested and expected that customers would wear masks in the stores, so Jan and I looked up how J and B and Lady Bluehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04103369850699744277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1792654412199604577.post-26481204946678976662020-04-03T17:49:00.000-05:002020-04-03T17:57:44.846-05:00Snowbird Mesa, BLM Land, Overton,Nevada
The Prickly Pear Cactus were beginning to blossom before we left Katherine Landing Campground in Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
When we published the last issue on March 21st, we were understanding that we could stay there for another 30 days. Well----a few days later there was a leaflet on our windshield(and everyone else's windshield)that we had to leave within 24 hours. We hope everyone has been enjoying their February. We have!!
Being with some great people at Quartzsite and visiting some of our favorite campgrounds.
The Lazy Daze Quartzsite group started to thin out after the RV tent ended. Eventually we were down to 4 Lazy Daze units and then 3 units. The plus side was our campfires were closer together so we could talk with everyone J and B and Lady Bluehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04103369850699744277noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1792654412199604577.post-44397185319079155132020-01-25T22:02:00.000-06:002020-01-25T22:02:34.368-06:00Rockhound State Park, Kartchner Caverns in Benson, Gila Bend, Quartzsite, Arizona
Another view from Rockhound State Park in Deming New Mexico. Our views were spectacular with good clear weather. The campground is about 4500 feet elevation and this year we experienced one night of 18 degrees--dry camping. Quite cold, and our coldest night to date in Lady Blue; but we were happy to have our furnace working great. Deming is about 12 miles ahead to the right.

Out of Lake Chicot State Park on the Arkansas side of the Mississippi, we follow U.S. Highway 82. This heads west in southern Arkansas to Crossett Harbor RV Park. A nice park with good separation. Originally built by the Army Corps of Engineer , it is now maintained as a county park within the Felsental National Wildlife Refuge, within a mile of Lake Jack Lee. Very casual. Our last issue left us heading for Cheraw State Park in South Carolina. That was following US Route 1 south from Jordan Lake State Park in North Carolina.

On Lake Juniper, this park also features what it describes as an 18 hole championship golf course. We enjoyed a hike around the lake , including a nice section of boardwalk.

Our last posting was a little over two weeks ago. That posting was the first in two and a half months. Looking at the recent posting, we realized we may have been in overkill mode. I counted 16 videos on that last posting. I don't see how any of you had time to look at all of them. Good news---only 3 videos this time and the blog is a little shorter. Yes, it has been more than 2 months since the last posting. We have been enjoying the summer, friends, and family, and New England.
Jan and I decided it might be best to start with newer pictures. Then, hopefully, we will have a chance to post pics from the summer in future blog postings. Something to look forward to.

Back again with a posting after 2 months. Lots of pictures and connections since May , but we are going to share some pictures of our family visits first.
The picture above is of Gary, Scott, and Alison at a family event in June.
We had a great visit with Scott, Lucas, and Lilly at the Massabesic Audubon Center in Auburn, New Hampshire.

Our first entry into Colorado. Coming down from the Raton Pass on Route 25. We had just been in Sugarite Canyon State Park in New Mexico. The Raton Pass is 7,500 ft elevation. Lady Blue took it in stride.
Coming into Lake Trinidad.
A few of Colorado's famous peaks in the distance.
Trinidad Lake State Park is our first campground in Colorado.

From Cochiti Lake , we head back to Route 25 north.
The picture above is coming into Santa Fe, New Mexico.
We made a short stop at Santa Fe RV Repair. Bruce had zapped our air conditioner control with a strong jolt of static electricity. It seemed like a blown fuse, but he couldn't find it. A quick consult at Santa Fe and fuse found(was not labeled well).

Jan and I traveled east from Kartchner Caverns campground on Interstate 10 to Lordsburg, New Mexico. We had seen good reviews on Day's End Directory(an available list to members of Escapees RV Club) about Kranberry's Restaurant. It turned out to be a very good stop. So, we have sidestepped the Salton Sea a few times. This time we decided to stop and see(the sea) and what it was all about. Not much happening these days because the sea has been evaporating and turning quite salty.
